Artist Statement
My art is a dance with the ineffable, where abstract self-expression becomes both an inquiry and a revelation. As a self-taught artist, I approach the canvas never knowing what will emerge. Every piece is an exploration into the unknown, which is both terrifying and exhilarating.
There’s a deliberate subtlety in my work, a kind of visual understatement, where hidden messages lie in wait, ready to be discovered by those who linger. My work is a mirror—sometimes clear, often fogged—reflecting our inner landscapes. Each piece is rich in depth and complex layers, a deliberate echo of ourselves.
Motherhood has deepened my art, infusing it with the rich complexity of nurturing life while wrestling with the vastness of existential questions. With a professional background in mental health, I'm intrigued by the wisdom embedded in our most confounding behaviors, and my art becomes an act of grace—a quiet offering to myself and others, a reminder that every emotion has its place, every struggle its intelligence, and every voice its brilliance.
I paint not just to be seen but to be felt—each stroke an invitation to transcend language and engage in a conversation with the soul. I believe in occupying space unapologetically, channeling the emotional resonance that has the power to shift perspectives and invite the viewer to connect to their own inner genius. I want you to experience feeling profoundly seen and understood in my work, and walk away feeling more alive.
I extend an invitation to you, the viewer, to join me in this ongoing journey of discovery. May my creations resonate with your own experiences, revealing, perhaps, that in the simple act of honest self-expression, there is profound beauty and connection to be experienced.
